Description

SurfaPore W is a water-based liquid product designed to maintain absorbent wooden surfaces. Its primary property is wood waterproofing, which ensures dimensional stability and protects against decay. Along with water exclusion, it also achieves effective oil protection. It is successfully used as an additive (diluted 10%) in pressure treatment to protect wood (compression-decompression chamber for timber). Unlike traditional varnishes, the use of SurfaPore W does not visibly alter the application surface and does not block the pores, allowing it to retain its natural breathability.

Very good waterproofing. I built animal houses from OSB-3, used it as a roof without anything else on top, and it's holding up well. I'll touch up if any piece comes off the OSB (especially if a cat scratches it), but so far there's no issue with sun exposure. Obviously, it won't last forever, but with one or two touch-ups a year, it's very cost-effective. Likely the weakest parts are some screws and nails, coated with wood preservative and then with SurfaPore W. Will return for updates.

Update 2024-05-14: I applied a coat to an outdoor table that has been exposed to a lot of sun and several unexpected rains. For now, it's not absorbing any water. I'll check back in September.

Although it seems too good to be true, after 20 days of applying it on a wooden structure, it remains waterproof. You pour water and it either slides off or remains as a droplet on top without being absorbed by the wood. I don't know what will happen with exposure to the sun and how long the wood will remain in this style. Time will tell.

It does a very nice job. It is very cheap. When it dries, there is no difference at all from what it was before in the eye

It seems to work and the MDF wooden surfaces that I applied do not absorb water.
