The maximum aperture of F4.0 is available throughout the 2.4x zoom range from the 15mm focal length to 36mm. It features a powerful Optical Image Stabilization system, enhancing the ability to work handheld in low-light conditions. The Super EBC coating suppresses flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color neutrality in strong lighting conditions.

It offers high-speed AF thanks to an enhanced internal focusing system, and the use of a stepping motor ensures silent operation. The minimum focusing distance of 24 centimeters allows for precise macro photography.

Additionally, the updated physical design includes:

  • Thinner focus and aperture rings
  • Lockable "A" position
  • f/stop scale
  • Weather sealing for protection against dust and moisture

    Expensive like most lenses of the system. As long as you don't need something brighter, it is excellent. Incredibly sturdy and sharp from 10mm to 20mm. At 20-24mm it drops somewhat at the edges, however it remains satisfactory. Unfortunately, there is currently no cheaper option for a wide-angle zoom in the system, but for anyone who really needs this range, it is worth it.
