Description

Description

Intensely smoky, youthful, and explosive. Chocolate, smoky tar, salty meats, black pepper, and pine resin. One of the rawest and most intense Ardbegs ever released. With an explosive sensation and character, a single malt for those seeking the ultimate raw Islay experience.

Aroma: A Wave of Energy

The first touch awakens the senses with:

  • Bright, fresh notes of herbs, with hints of vanilla and pear.

  • Rich Turkish coffee blends with resinous pine, with honey–glazed ham in the background.

With the addition of water, the complexity increases:

  • More top notes of herbs such as vetiver and fennel captivate you.

  • Alluring notes of anise, green apple, and leather.

  • A sharp note of smoke and fresh black pepper provide a powerful awakening.

Taste: Explosion of Power

Suddenly, a rich, explosive sensation floods the palate:

  • Chocolate, creosote and tar.

  • A strong dose of eucalyptus blended with antiseptic candies and anise.

  • The raw, smoky intensity escalates, before smoked bacon and salty meats invade the palate.

Aftertaste: Long and Salty

The aftertaste is long, salty, and envelops the palate, receding slowly:

  • Hints of cocoa and fudge gradually fade away.

This is the rawest, smokiest Ardbeg version ever made!

We're talking about a punch... it hits you hard and suddenly, both the burn and the smokiness..!!! It's different from the 10ml, everything is intense which is exactly what I wanted... someone might say that the 10ml is more proper with the right proportions, for me this was what I wanted, strong smokiness and not so 'studied' and balanced... anyone who loves smoky flavors will adore it...

Intensely smoky with evident sea influences. Slightly inconsistent with the saltiness and peat dominating and a hint of fruity aftertaste. Good value for money, but there are much better Ardbeg options at similar prices (Ten).

Very pleasant surprise. More intense, smoky, and fruity than the 10-year-old, I would say.
