Description

To raise a healthy baby and toddler, skills and information are required that parents need to find quickly and easily. It is very important to know what is best for their child's nutrition, hygiene, and care to protect them from all kinds of dangers and illnesses.

This practical guide, rich in photographs, was designed by a team of experts to provide you with the most up-to-date and easily understandable information you need for your child's care. In addition to the detailed chapters that cover all aspects of parenting in depth, you will find special fold-out pages that summarize the essentials for caring for a newborn as well as emergency procedures.

Additionally, a detailed month-by-month guide presents the stages of the baby's development during the first three years of life.

Whether you have a separate room for your baby or you allocate space from another room, and regardless of the decoration, it is important to properly organize the furniture and storage areas for when you put your baby in and take them out of the crib, change their diapers, dress them, or rock them to sleep. Place the crib next to a wall. When the baby is in the crib, they should not be able to reach a window, a blind or curtain cord, or any other furniture. Common sense dictates that it is best not to place the crib against a wall shared with a noisy room or in a position where direct sunlight will fall on your baby in the morning or during their nap.

The changing table should be placed perpendicular to the wall and away from the window. It will be convenient to have a piece of furniture next to it where you can store diapers, baby wipes, and diaper cream. This way, you can reach everything you need for each diaper change without having to leave your baby alone on the furniture, not even for a moment. The obvious place for the diaper bin is next to the changing table. A comfortable rocking chair fits well in the baby’s room; you may end up spending many hours in it.

It has some useful information for someone who is not familiar with babies. However, it promotes to an almost obsessive degree the idea of letting the baby cry "to develop good sleep habits." It mentions various practices that have been debunked by experts as harmful for infants and young children. I stopped reading it after a few chapters.
