Whether you have a separate room for your baby or you allocate space from another room, and regardless of the decoration, it is important to properly organize the furniture and storage areas for when you put your baby in and take them out of the crib, change their diapers, dress them, or rock them to sleep. Place the crib next to a wall. When the baby is in the crib, they should not be able to reach a window, a blind or curtain cord, or any other furniture. Common sense dictates that it is best not to place the crib against a wall shared with a noisy room or in a position where direct sunlight will fall on your baby in the morning or during their nap.
The changing table should be placed perpendicular to the wall and away from the window. It will be convenient to have a piece of furniture next to it where you can store diapers, baby wipes, and diaper cream. This way, you can reach everything you need for each diaper change without having to leave your baby alone on the furniture, not even for a moment. The obvious place for the diaper bin is next to the changing table. A comfortable rocking chair fits well in the baby’s room; you may end up spending many hours in it.
