It is good before you attach the clip to the fabric or tarpaulin where you want to apply it, to stick fabric adhesive tape on both sides of the fabric. Then place the ready-to-fasten part with the holes facing down on a hard and stable surface (e.g. on a marble or a sledgehammer) and hit it firmly with a hammer two or three times on each hole. Then make sure it is fastened properly. With the tape, you will ensure that the fabric will have better durability so that it does not tear where it was pierced. Mine has lasted a long time this way and withstood a lot of strong winds constantly battering it (camping). I have also put the clips on the edges of the car cover for better fastening!
