Description

The ABB compact S200 series of miniature circuit breakers has two different triggering mechanisms:

  • Thermal delay triggering mechanism for overload protection.
  • Electromechanical triggering mechanism for short-circuit protection.

They are available in different characteristics (B, C, D, K, Z), configurations (1P, 1P + N, 2P, 3P, 3P + N, 4P), short-circuit capacity (up to 6 kA at 230/400 V AC) and rated currents (up to 63A).

All S200 products comply with IEC / EN 60898-1, allowing them to be used for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

The bottom-mounted auxiliary contact can be installed on the S200 to save 50% space.

Operating Curve

The tripping curve shows the time required for the circuit breaker to switch off in relation to the current passing through it. For small overcurrents, the tripping is delayed to avoid unnecessary interruptions, while for very high values, such as in the case of a short circuit, the breaker operates immediately to protect the circuit. Different types of curves are used depending on the needs of each installation and the type of loads.
