Description

The ABB pro M compact S200 series of miniature circuit breakers features two different activation mechanisms:

  • Thermal delay activation mechanism for overload protection.
  • Electromechanical activation mechanism for short-circuit protection.

They are available in different characteristics (B, C, D, K, Z) and configurations (1P, 1P + N, 2P, 3P, 3P + N, 4P).

The short-circuit capacity reaches up to 6 kA at 230/400 V AC and nominal currents up to 63A.

All S200 products comply with IEC / EN 60898-1, allowing their use for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

The lower-mounted auxiliary contact can be installed on the S200 for a 50% space-saving.

Operating Curve

The tripping curve shows the time required for the circuit breaker to switch off in relation to the current passing through it. For small overcurrents, the tripping is delayed to avoid unnecessary interruptions, while for very high values, such as in the case of a short circuit, the breaker operates immediately to protect the circuit. Different types of curves are used depending on the needs of each installation and the type of loads.

Designed for loads with relatively high starting currents, such as motors or lower power transformers.
