The book aims to fill a gap in the Greek scientific literature on tourism regarding a particularly important issue for our country. It presents the developments and trends in modern tourism, the special and alternative forms of tourism, and their characteristics, providing a systematic reference framework for each special form: the definition, evolution, development factors, trends and prospects, SWOT analysis, examples of best practices, and the relationship with other special forms of tourism.

In the second edition, new forms of tourism have been added, along with numerous data, examples, and case studies for all the products being investigated in the special and alternative forms of tourism, while the proposed bibliography has been updated chapter by chapter.
