The book is the first in a series of four books aimed at preparing students for the Greek language proficiency exams organized by the Center for the Greek Language (KEG) and the Institute for Lifelong Education of Adults (IDEKE).

This first book corresponds to the A level of language proficiency.
Each teaching unit focuses on specific grammatical phenomena and specialized thematic vocabulary, which are taught gradually, according to the principles of teaching Greek as a second/foreign language. Special review units include exercises similar to those given in the KEG exams. The book is suitable for preparatory classes, but can also be used for self-study. Emphasis is placed on the parallel development of skills in understanding and producing spoken and written language. It is richly illustrated and particularly student-friendly. It comes with a CD.
