Our little one is 5 months old and we've been drinking it since 2 months old, following the advice of our pediatrician and later the pediatric gastroenterologist. She had severe reflux and an allergy to cow's milk protein.
It was very difficult for the baby to get used to the taste, she would eat while crying and at some point would stop eating. That's how we spent about 10 days where the meals in ml were reduced, since the instruction was to persist. After that, she got used to it.
It helped a lot with bowel movements. At first, they were quite watery and frequent throughout the day, but the doctor told us this was expected and indeed, things improved later.
As for the reflux, we have been treating it with Nexium since the second month, which reduced the regurgitations as well as the constant discomfort (fussiness all day) from the gastric fluids.
During the 2-week period when we stopped the medication, the regurgitations returned as before, and I was surprised that this particular milk is AR and did not help at all.
Since we had tried other ARs, I don't think Allernova helps with the regurgitation problem, only with the allergy. Nevertheless, we continue with it, according to the doctors' instructions, along with the medication, as no other is indicated as more suitable.
A very important instruction given to us later when we consulted the pediatric gastroenterologist was the intervals between feedings.
Never less than 3.5 hours if the baby ate less at the previous meal, otherwise feed every 4 hours, for a total of 5 meals (from 2 months and up, as I refer) in 24 hours, as stated on the box, according to the baby's age each time, with the corresponding ml.
We initially faced crying, because our baby was used to 2.5-3 hours (according to previous instructions), as well as supplements in between if she was hungry. The pediatric gastroenterologist cut these out 'cold turkey.' It was the best thing we did. Allernova cannot be digested in a shorter time. It may look thin in the bottle, but it thickens in the stomach. I mention this because other ARs we tried were like cement in the bottle and more convincing, if I can say so.
Also, definitely use one size up on the nipple compared to what the baby normally drinks.
Our pediatric gastroenterologist prescribes it regularly, only the first time did we need a stamp from the hospital she works with. The price is prohibitive for the 10 cans per month that 1 baby needs, and let's not forget how much milk is thrown away each time the baby eats less, either because she isn't hungry or fell asleep during the meal, etc.
300 euros per month for milk is not affordable to pay.
As for availability, you need to find a pharmacy that has a contract with the public sector for prescription milk and can gather them for you. We notify ours a few days in advance.
Finally, regarding mixing, the large bottle definitely helps. We unfortunately realized this when we switched from 150ml to 180ml.
In the 150ml bottles, there were always lumps/chunks left. In the 270ml bottles, we have no issue. Of course, the water must be hot; after many experiments, we settled at 70 degrees, with a digital kettle-thermos.
Η μικρή μας είναι 5 μηνών και το πίνουμε από 2 μηνών έπειτα από υπόδειξη της παιδιάτρου μας και κατόπιν της παιδογαστρεντερολόγου. Eίχε έντονη παλινδρόμηση και αλλεργία στην πρωτεινη του αγελαδινού γάλακτος.
Μεγάλη δυσκολία στο να συνηθίσει το μωρό την γεύση, έτρωγε κλαίγοντας και σε κάποια στιγμή σταματούσε να τρώει. Κάπως έτσι πέρασε ένα 10ήμερο όπου ελαττώθηκαν τα γεύματα σε ml, αφού η οδηγία ήταν να επιμείνουμε. Μετά το συνήθισε.
Βοήθησε πολύ με τις κενώσεις. Στην αρχή ήταν αρκετά υδαρές κι αρκετές μες στην μέρα, αλλά ήταν αναμενόμενο μας είπε η γιατρός κι όντως έφτιαξαν μετά.
Όσον αφορά στην παλινδρόμηση, εμείς κάνουμε θεραπεία με Nexium από τον δεύτερο μήνα, όπου μας μείωσε τις αναγωγές αλλά και την συνεχή ανησυχία (γκρίνια όλη μέρα) από τα γαστρικά υγρά.
Στο διάστημα 2 εβδομάδων που κάναμε διακοπή της αγωγής, οι αναγωγές επανήλθαν όπως και πριν και μου έκανε εντύπωση ότι το συγκεκριμένο γάλα είναι AR και δεν βοήθησε καθόλου.
Καθώς είχαμε δοκιμάσει κι άλλα AR, δεν θεωρώ ότι το Allernova βοηθάει στο πρόβλημα των αναγωγών, παρα μόνο στης αλλεργίας. Παρ'όλ'αυτά το συνεχίζουμε, σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες των γιατρών, μαζί με την φαρμακευτική αγωγή, καθώς δεν ενδείκνυται κάποιο άλλο ως καταλληλότερο.
Πολύ σημαντική οδηγία που μας δόθηκε σε δεύτερο χρόνο όταν απευθυνθήκαμε σε παιδογαστρεντερολόγο, είναι τα διαστήματα ανάμεσα στην σίτιση.
Ποτέ σε διάστημα μικρότερο των 3μιση ωρών αν έχει φάει το μωρό λιγότερο στο προηγούμενο γεύμα, διαφορετικά σίτιση ανα 4 ώρες, σύνολο 5 γεύματα (από 2 μηνών και πάνω αναφέρομαι) στο 24ωρο, όπως αναγράφονται και στο κουτί, σύμφωνα με την ηλικία του μωρού κάθε φορά, με τα ανάλογα ml.
Αντιμετωπίσαμε στην αρχή το κλάμα, γιατί η μπέμπα μας είχε συνηθίσει το 2μιση-3 ώρες (σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες που είχαμε έτσι), καθώς και τα συμπληρώματα στο ενδιάμεσο αν πεινούσε. Αυτά μας τα έκοψε ΄μαχαίρι' η παιδογαστρεντερολόγος. Ήταν ό,τι πιο σωστό είχαμε κάνει. Το Allernova δεν μπορεί να χωνευτεί σε μικρότερο χρονικό διάστημα. Μπορεί να φαίνεται αραιό στο μπιμπερό, μα πήζει στο στομάχι. Το αναφέρω διότι άλλα AR που είχαμε δοκιμάσει, ήταν σαν μπετό στο μπιμπερό και πιο πειστικά αν μπορώ να το πω έτσι.
Επίσης, οπωσδήποτε ένα νούμερο πάνω στην θηλή απ'ότι πίνει το μωρό κανονικά.
Η παιδογαστρεντερολόγος μας το συνταγογραφεί κανονικά, την πρώτη φορά μόνο χρειάστηκε σφραγίδα από το νοσοκομείο που συνεργάζεται. Η τιμή είναι απαγορευτική για τα 10 γάλατα τον μήνα που χρειάζεται 1 μωρό και να μην ξεχνάμε πόσο γάλα πετάμε κάθε φορά που το μωρό μπορεί να φάει λιγότερο είτε γιατί δεν έχει όρεξη ή το πήρε ο ύπνος στο γεύμα κλπ.
300 ευρώ τον μήνα για γάλα είναι ασύμφορο να δίνεις.
Όσον αφορά στην διαθεσιμότητα, πρέπει να βρεις και φαρμακείο που να έχει σύμβαση με το δημόσιο για συνταγογραφημένο γάλα, αλλά και να μπορεί να σου τα συγκεντρώσει. Εμείς ειδοποιούμε το δικό μας λίγες μέρες νωρίτερα.
Τέλος, όσον αφορά στην ανάμιξη, σίγουρα βοηθάει το μεγάλο μπουκάλι. Το καταλάβαμε δυστυχώς όταν περάσαμε από τα 150ml στα 180ml.
Στα μπιμπερό των 150ml πάντα έμεναν σβόλοι/κομμάτια. Στα μπιμπερό των 270ml δεν έχουμε θέμα. Βέβαια το νερό πρέπει να είναι καυτό, εμείς μετά από πολλά πειράματα, καταλήξαμε στους 70 βαθμούς, με ψηφιακό βραστήρα-θερμός.
