The M-65 was launched for the first time in 1965 for the American security forces. The ALS Liner (Alpha Liner System) is made of polyester with an outer layer of Rip Stop nylon. It has been exclusively developed for the M-65 Field Jacket, although it can be worn as a separate jacket since it has its own pockets.
