Using the appropriate cuff is a necessary condition for accurate measurement:

• The correct cuff should have the appropriate diameter from the manufacturer, so it matches the circumference of the arm.
• If the arm's circumference is larger than that of the cuff, the "narrow cuff phenomenon" occurs, and the readings will be higher than the actual values.
• If the arm's circumference is smaller, the "wide cuff phenomenon" occurs, and the readings will be lower than the actual values.

A&D Cuff Suitability Indicator:

• A&D has implemented the "Cuff Suitability Indicator" (INDEX). With the proper placement of the cuff (2-3 centimeters above the elbow crease), it indicates which suitability area the arrow (INDEX) points to.
• If it points to the "PROPER FIT RANGE" area, you are using the appropriate cuff.
• If it shows "USE LARGE CUFF," you need to use a "Large cuff" A&D.
• If it shows "USE SMALL CUFF," you need to use a "Small cuff" A&D.
