Lenses with variable optical (zoom) that remain equally bright (same maximum aperture value) throughout the entire focal distance range they offer. Usually significantly more expensive than their variable aperture counterparts.

    Fixed Focal Length

Lenses with fixed optics are usually of higher quality than a corresponding zoom lens at the same focal distance. They are also called "fixed" or "prime" lenses.

  • Sensor Type

    Full Frame

Photographic lenses designed for use on full frame sensor cameras. A full frame lens can also be used on a crop frame sensor camera, but with its focal length adjusted according to the corresponding crop factor.

For example, a full frame lens with a focal length of 50mm (standard) on a camera body with a crop factor of 1.6 will function with a perspective as if it were an 80mm lens (telephoto).

The reverse does not work as the optics of a crop frame lens are not sufficient to cover an entire full frame sensor, resulting in the edges of the frame being black (severe vignetting).

Description

Description

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM is a full-frame prime lens with autofocus and a Canon EF mount. Its maximum aperture of f/1.4 and rounded 9-blade diaphragm create bright images and smooth bokeh in out-of-focus areas. FLD and SLD elements correct chromatic aberration, while aspherical elements help reduce astigmatism and field curvature.

The floating-element internal focusing system supports optical performance in close-up shots. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces reflections and ghosting, while the HSM motor provides fast, quiet autofocus and allows manual adjustment using the focus ring. The metal mount is made of brass.

The quality of Sigma continues with this lens from the Art series. Whether for professional or amateur use, the lens is excellent. Lightweight, sturdy, and image quality (sharpness, color) on another level. I highly recommend it. (Sweet spot 2.8)
