To prepare Greek coffee with a copper coffee pot, follow these steps:
- Fill the coffee pot with cold water to the level you want for the amount of coffee you wish to prepare.
- Add the ground coffee to the pot. The recommended ratio is about 1 teaspoon of coffee per cup of water, but you can adjust according to your taste preference.
- Add sugar if desired.
- Place the pot on medium heat on the stove and let it heat slowly. It may take around 4-5 minutes for the water to reach boiling point.
- When the water starts boiling, a frothy layer will form on the surface of the coffee. Once you see this frothy layer, remove the pot from the heat.
- Let the pot settle for a few seconds to allow the frothy layer to stabilize.
- Repeat the process 2-3 times, mixing the frothy layer on top with the rest of the coffee in the pot.
- When the coffee is ready, you can serve it in cups, first spooning the frothy layer into each cup.
