Description & Specifications

Seachem PhosGuard is a porous aquarium filter media for reducing phosphate or silicate levels in water. Place it in an area with high water flow, such as a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or another filter location.

Before use, pre-wet it with twice its volume of fresh water and rinse; placing it in a filter bag is recommended. Initial contact with water may generate heat. After 4 days, test phosphate or silicate levels. If they have not dropped to approximately 0.02 mg/L, replace the media; otherwise, leave it in the filter until levels begin to rise again. It does not become exhausted as long as concentrations remain under control.

  • Freshwater dosage: 85 ml per 400 L
