Seachem Purigen porous media filters water in marine and freshwater aquariums. It gradually darkens as it becomes exhausted, and a pronounced change in the beads’ color to dark brown or black indicates that it needs to be regenerated.

Rinse before use and place in a fine-mesh filter bag, up to 180 microns, where water flow is maximized. It can be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or another high-flow area of the filter. Regenerate it with a bleach-and-water solution and reuse it once its original color and effectiveness have been restored.
