“Few endure a long war without being psychologically harmed. No one tolerates a long peace” - succinctly summarizes Spengler. From that beautiful and fortunate era, the Europeans inherited a mental misunderstanding of the eternal laws of human life - the laws of war - and a psychological softness from which all theories about material well-being, international understanding, and earthly paradises were born, with which demagogues captivated their ears and the ears of others. One of those theories - the optimistic theories - was the theory of economic crisis, around which moderate politicians of both the right and left moved, after the bypassing of which a new period of prosperity was expected, while contemporary European history is now moving completely outside of those frameworks and is now about a new period of great global wars between global powers over global dominance.
(From the back cover of the book) In this book, we present, paying special tribute to the great Greek sociologist Evangelos Lemesis, his study titled “The Decline of the West (An Introduction to Spengler’s Philosophy).” With a sharp, restless, and uncompromising spirit, and a talented pen, he delivered works that remain literally timely. Most readers know him from his study “The Enormous Social Significance of Idiots in Contemporary Life.” However, his bibliography is particularly extensive. From our publications, two other books have been released: his studies Sociology of Ideologies and Utopias and Critique of “Public Opinion.”
