First of all, you do not gain more signal in any band with this if you only want it for DX, there are many world band radios at the price of 100 euros that have the same reception.

If you already have one of the top models like the pl-660, 680, 880, I would say to think about it because depending on your needs and what you expect from a radio, you may not need to buy it. What makes it special for me, I mention below:

Many settings and hidden menus... possibility of mp3, but be careful, it does not record... possibility to become a speaker via Bluetooth, for example, if you connect your phone... or to become a speaker for the laptop via USB... line out (connection to a better sound system).

I would say it's the best portable radio ever, especially for shortwave enthusiasts, because the way it finds the SSB signals is comparable to desktop receivers, and let me explain:

It has the ability for Single Side Band for zero beat calibration, which, once properly tuned (easy), all SSB stations come out effortlessly without further tuning, while in other portable radios, the BFO requires fine-tuning for each SSB station to be heard correctly.

Once it is set to SSB mode, the calibration/fine-tuning (when we put it in SSB mode) now uncovers the signals and even on the exact frequency... for example, I go to the 5505 kHz channel volmet as if it were without SSB because it no longer needs any more fine-tuning like the other BFO radios... in other words, for me as an inexperienced and first-time user of SSB, it easily finds the signals as if they didn't have SSB and I thought it would be difficult for me to center the SSB stations.

The other advantage with this is the quality of the speaker, SW filters that are adjusted through a hidden menu from the threshold button No. 9... Personally (I mention personally because user preferences also play a role here), when using MW/SW, the speaker produces a kind of bass that for me, if I stay for a long time on a weak station (e.g. shortwave or medium wave to listen to amateurs where at some point the signal decreases for a long time and increased noise/interference is heard), it does not tire the ear the same way as other portable radios that have a more treble/mid-tone in their speakers.

The construction is quality plastic and the speaker cover is metal, the style reminds me of the 80s (personal opinion)... I have had it for 2 months and I have worn out the fm/sw/mw/lsb/ssb/am bandwidth buttons (daily heavy use) and they have not lost color or elasticity.

It has the ability for an external antenna on ALL bands, but be careful, because it is portable and the amplifier is regulated to provide the best with the telescopic/ferrite antenna, you must find the correct/suitable external antenna to match EACH band.

    FM reception is very good.
MW in my case is only 3-5 dBμ better than a pl-360 with its external ferrite antenna connected to it, so it is the same in medium waves, no difference from the pl-360.
LW is unreachable, I picked up the 279 Watan & 243 kHz Danish radio for the first time, it also picks up 6 others, but it only goes up to there in the long waves because they gradually close in that band.
SW is very good, but it doesn't pick up better than other portable radios (sangean909X, pl-660, 680, 880, etc).

The battery lasts a long time, when I first got it, to find out, it played for 7-10 hours every day (I pushed it to the limit, scanning, filter testing, hidden menus, settings, band switching, volume adjustment, continuous light, etc.) and it lasted me 3 days (maybe because the battery is still brand new).

The negatives for me (although I am very satisfied with the radio):

At such a price and as the top portable radio from Tecsun... It doesn't have air band... it doesn't have RDS on FM... it doesn't have as adjustable AGC control... the sync detection doesn't work properly like in the previous 880... it doesn't take the small AA batteries that can be found anywhere in case I need to stay outside for a long time... personally, I think it is overpriced compared to other top portable radios from Tecsun (I just wanted something good and I said why not go for the latest one since I didn't have any other top ones). Maybe over time, its price will decrease.

If you have any questions, I have a review and my own video on satleo.gr, but so far there are also many videos on the internet from others (the photo of the radio is with 2 months of daily heavy use)
