The thirty-three studies included in this volume share a common thematic axis focusing on ancient theater in all its aspects: tragedy, comedy, mime, as well as Aristotle's Poetics, along with the history and archaeology of ancient theater.

Some of the studies also address the survival and reception of ancient Greek drama and theater during both Roman times and the modern era.

This volume is dedicated to Professor Grigoris M. Sifakis, one of the most significant scholars internationally in the field of ancient Greek theater.
