This book is aimed at everyone who is directly involved as parents, pediatricians, educators... and indirectly as researchers and diagnosticians dealing with the factors that shape the communicative relationships of the social environment with developing individuals, as well as how and why these relationships so often become problematic for both communicative partners and lead to dysfunctions.
The authors present a synthesis of experimentally documented data and clinical observations from pediatrics, developmental pediatrics, and brain sciences, convincingly arguing the following: the quality of the developmental trajectory of a person is shaped by the functions of the brain that draw personal conclusions from the collaborative or non-collaborative communicative relationship between the "social environment" and the developing individual, and thus create the quality of the biography of the developing person.
The quality of the biography shapes all the bio-psycho-socially healthy or deviant dimensions of the individual's behavior. They conclude that: disorders of the bio-psycho-social developmental trajectory of children who were born healthy and grow up in low-risk societies must and can be addressed with absolute priority through primary prevention programs. Scientific knowledge at the beginning of the 21st century proves that this is not a utopia.
