Durostick Hydrostop Wall is a thin, hydrophobic silicate solution that penetrates masonry and is used to create a horizontal barrier against rising damp. It is applied by injection into drilled holes or by impregnating the masonry. Its reaction with the calcium hydroxide in building materials forms insoluble compounds and seals capillary pores. It does not corrode concrete reinforcement or prevent breathability.
For injection, drill holes at intervals and diameters suited to the method used and the absorbency of the masonry. Inject by gravity until saturated or, in masonry with significant water ingress, using an injection device. After application, leave the holes open for at least 24 hours, then seal them with DUROSTICK D-11 SUPER FAST or DS-247 rapid-setting repair mortar.
