Description

Description

This book presents fundamental positions of Early Childhood Education, which is approached on the basis of a holistic pedagogy. It discusses topics that are considered important for the pedagogical work in kindergartens and are rooted in the life of the group, the problems, the experiential experiences, the children's needs for play and learning, and the respect for their social, emotional, and cognitive abilities.

The thematic scope of the book is broad. It includes contemporary teaching approaches, which, due to the complexity of pedagogical characteristics, are considered essential for the pedagogical work in kindergartens. However, in our effort for a common direction, we preserved as much as possible both creativity and multiplicity, in order to encourage dialogue in a space that is constantly evolving and changing, which is why it poses a challenge that we, as educators, passionately support.

Also, through a modern pedagogical discussion, the role of the educator is highlighted, who reconciles the existence of oppositions: individual and group, organization and freedom, stability and change, flexibility and foresight, as these contradictions are part of the daily practice.

On the basis of this reflective experiential approach, which is based on the observation of the pedagogical process, the educator solves problems, builds new ways of understanding, is open to changes occurring in the children, parents, and themselves, demonstrating the exhaustive nature of the teaching and pedagogical process, in contrast to the reality of daily practice, which cannot be expressed by a set of rules.

This book is aimed at students of Educational Departments, educators (kindergarten teachers and primary school teachers), as well as anyone interested in issues related to the pedagogical reality.
