The Doulton Hip water filter system is installed under the kitchen counter and connects to the tap included in the package. It includes a Doulton Ultracarb Si 0.5 μm filter with a ceramic shell, activated carbon, heavy metal removal technology and scale-inhibiting resin. The filtration stages include microfiltration to retain bacteria, cysts and microparticles; chlorine and organic compound removal; and improvements to the taste and odour of the water.

The system has a food-grade plastic housing and 3/8'' quick-fit inlet and outlet connections. It operates with cold water at temperatures of 3–30 °C and is compatible with UltraCarb, UltraCarb Si and PFAS filters.
