Evergetikon Pure Essential Oil Citronella. The plant Cymbopogon Nardus (commonly known as citronella grass) is the source of citronella essential oil. It has a lemony, slightly fruity aroma and has the ability to repel insects.
Citronella essential oil is known for its natural disinfectant properties, but primarily for its insect-repelling and mosquito-repellent action. It also acts against moths, thus protecting clothing from damage. Additionally, it helps protect hair from lice, which is why it is often used in the preparation of anti-lice products.
Usage:
- To make a mosquito repellent oil, mix 8 drops of citronella essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil in almond oil. You can also add a few drops of tea tree, basil, and geranium essential oils for better results.
- Insect-repelling action: add about 15 drops to unscented potpourri or dried flowers. We can also add it to an essential oil diffuser (tea light).
- Action against moths: soak some cotton or small wooden balls with citronella essential oil and place them in drawers and closets.
Safety Precautions:
- Avoid contact with eyes.
