Incredible resolution from a small 35mm prime lens

Two XA (extreme aspherical) elements in the G Master design take advantage of the short rear distance without a mirror, for impressive contrast and resolution in a small lens. The superior optical quality of the lens is further enhanced by the ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element and Sony's Nano AR Coating II, which maintains excellent image clarity in all lighting conditions.

Lightweight and compact design for easy transport and handling

Although it uses two XA (extreme aspherical) elements and offers impressive G Master quality, this small lens easily fits in the palm of a hand and weighs only 524 g. The GM FE 35 mm F1.4 offers easy transport and handling, even in the most peculiar environments and shooting conditions.

Enhanced G Master background defocus and great versatility

The XA elements prevent onion ring background defocusing, the 11-blade mechanism creates an almost circular aperture, even with the lens fully open, and the strict control of spherical aberration in design and construction contributes to beautiful bokeh with F1.4.
