Description

Three years ago, Greece fell into the hands of chance. And immediately after, it became the target of opportunists. It was the logical sequence of a disaster that had the characteristics of a social tragedy. And it evolved into a conflict that took the form of a 'low-intensity' civil war (to recall Italy in the '70s)...

A Cold Civil War, without military conflicts and armed confrontations, but with the passion, fanaticism, and division of a typical domestic confrontation. But how did we end up where we are? How did an entire country derail so easily? How did it unexpectedly and abruptly sink into destabilization? This is what I will attempt to narrate and explain in the pages of this book.

I will speak about people and events that I was fortunate enough to personally witness from the privileged position of a professional who records them daily, who experiences them from the front lines of current affairs - and not just from the spotlight.

My narrative begins around 2009 and concludes with the double electoral confrontation of May and June 2012. What happened before is the responsibility of historians. What comes after will be determined by fortune tellers.

Unlike a self-serving perception of journalism, I do not believe that a journalist writes the truth. A journalist simply writes what they know. In the following pages, therefore, I have recorded everything I know. Without, even remotely, presuming that I know it all. In any case, given where we have reached, no one can say anything more. Nor can anyone do anything less.
