The Canon Battery Grip BG-E6 is an optional battery grip designed specifically for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera. It allows users to use one or two LP-E6 battery packs. With two packs, the battery life is doubled compared to using a single LP-E6 pack in the camera. This is particularly useful when using video mode or Live View mode, which consume more power. Additionally, with the included BGM-E6 Battery Magazine, you can alternatively power the camera with six AA batteries.

The BG-E6 also provides complete vertical control settings, which can be turned on or off independently, depending on the photographer's needs, making it easier to take vertical images.

Note: The battery grip BG-E4 for the previous EOS 5D is not compatible with the EOS 5D Mark II camera.
