The MELOS rosin has been tested and works successfully under any conditions for every instrument. It is available in two different types: "light" and "dark".
The "light" rosin is used more for high ambient temperatures (spring or summer) and is ideal for softer playing or for solos in chamber music.
In contrast, the "dark" rosin is preferred in lower temperatures (fall or winter) and provides a "full" sound, suitable for orchestral performance or solos in large concerts.
For Greek bowed string instruments, such as the Pontic, Cretan, and Politiki lyra, two types of rosin are also produced: "light" and "dark".
- For a more "soft" playing, use the "light".
- For a more "powerful" performance, use the "dark".
Specifically, for the Politiki lyra, the "light" is recommended, while for the Cretan lyra, the "dark" is suggested.
The "MELOS" rosin, in all levels of hardness, offers good quality sound to the most demanding musician.
