Review this product
  • It was purchased when it cost around 750 euros, that was 10 years ago, maybe even more, and yes, it still works with the same discs. It requires some familiarity, a lot of patience, and a steady hand. It does the job about 70%—it does not replace the honing steel. One negative that could be mentioned is that for large knives, like gyro knives for example, a guide would help so that the knife does not move left and right. Also, these machines are not intended for very expensive knives, which require a completely different approach. The cost of replacing the discs exceeds 450 euros; this is a serious issue, although over a five-year period it is largely mitigated, especially when talking about a professional environment with ten active, demanding knives. Obviously, as the years go by, it requires more repetitions per knife to achieve results, and although the company claims that the discs are lifetime, which is surprisingly not a lie, it is good to change them every five years so that any wear does not alter the desired sharpening angles. Yes, I would buy it again.
