Description

Description

Postmodern societies are largely textually mediated, which increases academic interest in discourse. Thus, through the offering of multiple and opposing constructions of social reality, what and how it is said that something happens gains immense significance.

As part of the broader field of discourse analysis, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) has made its mark from the outset, focusing on the concepts of ideology, power, and critique. CDA has significant resonance in the Greek academic sphere. More and more studies related to the Greek context focus on CDA or introduce it into their methodological framework.

However, a collective work related to CDA was absent from the Greek literature. The purpose of this volume, therefore, is to present the three main schools of CDA, as well as to highlight their reframing for the study of the Greek socio-political reality.

Focusing, therefore, on the Greek context, which is shared by both researchers and readers, it will better illuminate what the perspective of CDA can offer in the (de)construction of social reality.
