However, this does not mean that you have access to the content of the applications. For that, you need a VPN.

I have it since 26/04, on a non-smart TV. I set it up on the same day I received it, with an American Amazon account (I wanted it for some streaming services that are not available in Greece and I couldn't use VPN on the chromecast) and using VPN (and of course the corresponding fee for the streaming services), I have access without any problems to the entire catalog that interested me.
Disney+, Discovery+, HULU & Peacock work properly and legally (but not legitimately, because I bypass the geographic restriction). It rarely freezes (only if I exit a streaming application until the half catalog of Amazon ads for prime loads).
It connected via 5GHz WiFi and works perfectly (I have fiber optic and I get the full speed). It did 3 updates as soon as it connected.
It also comes with an HDMI extender in case you have a strange TV and it doesn't fit in the back, and 2 Amazon Basics batteries for the wireless remote control. It had a European type plug, so I didn't need to search for an adapter.
As a bonus: I connected my V-tac smart bulbs to Alexa and I can control them from there too!
For what it is, and for the price it is sold, I can't find anything negative. It is more than worth it. I will also get the 4k version, for my 4k/55-inch TV which is smart but incredibly slow and has tired me out.

Το σέταρα την ίδια μέρα που το παρέλαβα, με αμερικάνικο λογαριασμό Amazon (το ήθελα για κάποιες υπηρεσίες streaming που δεν είναι διαθέσιμες στην Ελλάδα και δεν μπορούσα να βάλω VPN στο chromecast) και με χρήση VPN (και φυσικά το ανάλογο αντίτιμο για τις υπηρεσίες streaming) έχω πρόσβαση χωρίς προβλήματα σε όλο τον κατάλογο που με ενδιέφερε.

Συνδέθηκε μέσω 5GHz WiFi και πάει σφαίρα (έχω οπτική ίνα και πιάνω όλη την ταχύτητα). Με την μία έκανε 3 update όταν συνδέθηκε.
Επίσης έρχεται με HDMI extender σε περίπτωση που έχετε περίεργη τηλεόραση και δεν χωράει από πίσω, και 2 μπαταρίες Amazon Basics για το ασύρματο τηλεχειριστήριο. Είχε Ευρωπαϊκού τύπου πρίζα οπότε δεν χρειαζόταν να ψάχνω να βρω αντάπτορα.
Στα bonus: σύνδεσα τις V-tac smart λάμπες που έχω με την Alexa και μπορώ να τις αναβοσβήσω και από εκεί!
Για αυτό που είναι, και για την τιμή που το πουλάνε, δεν βρίσκω κάτι αρνητικό. Αξίζει με το παραπάνω. Θα πάρω και την 4k έκδοση, για την 4k/55άρα που έχω η οποία είναι μεν smart αλλά κολλάει απίστευτα και με έχει κουράσει.
