In the present edition, a thorough presentation and analysis of all the Inspection and Control procedures of an electrical installation is provided, according to the standard ELOT HD384. All the proposed measures from legislation and the ELOT HD384 standard for protection against electric shock are mentioned.

Methods for systematizing the Visual Inspection of an electrical installation are suggested, and the immediate or indirect conclusions that may arise are highlighted. With the help of detailed diagrams and charts, alternative methodologies for the implementation are presented:

• measurements to verify the continuity of the protective conductors and the main and supplementary equivalent connections
• measurement of the insulation resistance of the supply lines
• measurement of the combined loop fault resistance in the cases of 'neutralization - TN' and 'direct grounding - TT' systems
• checking the operation of the Residual Current Device
• measurement or approximate estimation of the grounding resistance

The acceptable limits of values for each measured quantity are determined, so that the evaluation of the measurements and the extraction of correct conclusions regarding the levels of safety provided by the Electrical Installation can be achieved.

The structure of the new series of forms required to be filled out for the documentation of the Inspection of Low Voltage Electrical Installations is analyzed. Through detailed examples, the correct way to fill out the new Responsible Declaration of the Electrical Installer, the Electrical Installation Delivery Report, and the Control Protocols according to ELOT HD384 and K.E.H.E. is presented.
