I got it to lower the voltage for a desk lamp that doesn't accept a dimmer. Good build quality, it warms up slightly even without load due to losses in the core. Since the sheet metal on the side made a little noise, I put a small piece of rubber on the outside to press it, securing it with a zip tie around the transformer.
