Very good and fast switch for use at home and in a small office or business.

This is not a Distribution Switch (for sharing) where you connect PCs, printers, WiFi APs, etc., but for aggregating multiple uplinks from more switches to avoid creating uplink on uplink on uplink. (Technically, you can do it with adapters from RJ45 to SFP and it will work as an L2 switch)

The ports it has are SFP+ that run at 1G or 10G, so a simple CAT5/6 copper cable won't work unless an adapter is used. It takes fiber optic or DAC cable.

Two or more ports can be "connected" (Link Aggregation/LACP) to increase speed on the local network. This mainly helps with NAS and Server for data transfer. Additionally, it has loop protection, so if two devices happen to get the same IP, instead of the whole network going down, it just shuts down the port(s) with the same IPs. It also has the capability for MAC-Based Port Restriction, which essentially prevents anything other than a specific device from connecting to one or more ports, and if an unknown device connects, the port(s) shut down/disable.
