The non-absorbable surgical suture PROPYLEN is mainly used for holding in contact or closing soft tissues, even in ophthalmic surgeries, cardiovascular, and nervous system operations.
As a material, it is particularly compatible with tissues. The PROPYLEN suture initially exhibits a minimal inflammatory tissue reaction followed by the gradual formation of a connective tissue capsule around it.
- It is not absorbed by the tissues.
- It does not decompose and is not weakened by the action of proteolytic enzymes.
- It is recommended in cases where the minimal possible reaction is desired.
- It is particularly recommended for use in wounds that are infected or are easily susceptible to subsequent infection.
- It does not adhere to tissues, allowing for easy and painless removal.
The suture is usually removed within a month.
