Woven sinking ropes made of polyester. They are very strong, almost as strong as nylon, and additionally have the advantage that they do not lose their strength when wet. They have high resistance to abrasion, UV rays, heat, and common chemicals. Due to their polyester composition, they do not have significant elasticity and are therefore considered ideal for applications where light stretching is required but good handling properties are needed. They are very popular as a marine rope in shipping, sailing for mooring and docking small boats, fishing, where elasticity is not particularly desirable. They are also used for household and agricultural tasks, camping, and in industry.
