Application & Performance
The synthetic absorbable surgical suture PGA is selected for use depending on the patient's condition, the size of the wound and tissues, and surgical experience and technique.
Upon implantation of the suture, a moderate local inflammation of the tissues is observed, characteristic of the reaction to a foreign body, followed by its gradual encapsulation in fibrous connective tissue. This is followed by a gradual loss of suture strength and mass due to its absorption with the help of the hydrolysis mechanism.
Advantages:
- smooth passage through tissue
- high knot strength during pulling
- knot security
- minimized tissue reaction
- flexibility and easy handling
- high tensile strength & failure resistance
- no need for removal session
- almost zero material memory
- complete biocompatibility
