The Tascam MiNiStudio Creator US-42 external sound card connects to a computer via USB and supports recording at resolutions of up to 24-bit and sample rates of up to 96 kHz. The two XLR/TRS combo inputs feature HDDA microphone preamps, while the mini-jack input accepts a headset microphone and the AUX input connects portable audio players.

It includes built-in equalizer, compressor and reverb effects, as well as voice presets. The three illuminated, velocity-sensitive buttons trigger sounds during live use, while the Broadcast Mode switch toggles between live streaming and production modes. Levels are monitored via an illuminated LED meter. The RCA outputs are stereo, and the headphone output has a separate volume control. It is compatible with Windows, Mac and iOS; iOS devices connect via an Apple Lightning-to-USB adapter.
