The fact that they are Open Air is not a problem if you are indeed in a personal isolated space, a "Studio." The problem is that they are not Flat as claimed. They have coloration, especially in the mid-high region, and particularly from about 6.8K to 10.5K, where some might call it detailed sound analysis, but that's not exactly how it works. You want analysis across the whole spectrum. They don't have the confusion that others might present, but in the mid region, if you want them for Vocal sessions, then OK. They have no Low End, and according to the more experienced Master Gurus, the Low End exists, you just have to get used to it and imagine it in your mix. I kept them only to use as a reference for Vocals. Personally, I prefer headphones that provide as much analysis as possible and approach the "Normal Standards," regardless of the spectrum analyzer's display. After 4 years of using these headphones, I can say that they are a decent choice for monitoring because they are semi open ear and allow you to hear the surrounding environment along with the voice or instrument you are playing. However, they are not the best choice for mixing and optimizing tracks, despite having a flat sound, they do not have a very good soundstage (stereo image).

In terms of frequency response, they perform well in the low-mid/mid and high-mid frequencies. However, the very low and very high frequencies are not accurately reproduced.

In terms of build quality, they are durable, even though their main frame is made of plastic and so far they have not suffered any damage. Even the cable, which happened to break, was simply replaced because it is detachable.

Therefore, for amateur to semi-professional work, they are a very good choice considering their price.

I have been using them for a while now and they are truly the best in their category. Ideal for radio and recording.

I believe that for this money, the headphones should have a much stronger sound. However, the sound is very deep and clear. The build quality is very good, but the ear cushions are too hard in my opinion. Overall, the headphones are good, but if they were louder, I would gladly give them a 4/5 or even 5/5

The sound is dull and the bass overpowers. Compared to other good headphones, but also to speakers, they objectively have bad sound because they distort. Only the fact that they don't have a regular plug, but a plug with an additional adapter shows that the sound quality is not good. What a waste of money!

I bought them for electronic drums. JUST NO. Their sound is so low that I hear the drum hit more than the sound of the drums. I give them 3 stars because they have a nice sound but for the job I wanted them for, they are TERRIBLE. Also, the sound isolation from the environment is tragic. Also, the people around you can hear everything when I connected them to a computer. If you want them for music or music production and you don't mind bothering the people around you, then get them, otherwise stay away.

Well, I have been "frozen"! Because I also have the Audio Technica ATH-M40x (which have almost double the price), I can say that the AKG is superior in both quality and sound. Of course, I am mainly referring to studio applications such as mixing and recording, not just listening to music. An exceptional product, although I should have known this since about 10+ years ago when I bought used AKG K-171 (not the MKII) and they accompanied me until recently when I sold them for almost the same price I bought them back then!

These are specifically for studio use, so we should not expect them to enhance the bass or any other frequency ranges. I chose them because they have a very good "flat" sound for studio sound processing and for the detachable cable. I believe they are very good value for money.

Very good studio headphones. It's not for listening to music or playing games. It doesn't have a lot of bass, as many complain because that's not their job, and they have holes in the earcups so the sound doesn't get blocked. Of course, this is a personal preference and not everyone likes it.

I use them for editing and sound mixing. Very satisfactory performance, quite comfortable even after hours of use. They do not completely isolate, especially if you don't have the volume up high, you can hear noise from the environment. If you work in quiet conditions, no problem.

The cable is detachable, so if it breaks, it can be replaced. However, it is not a jack to jack cable, but a jack to a 3-pin female socket. As for the negatives, it has a length of 3 meters, which may be convenient for some, but it annoys me because it always ends up tangled.

I read the reviews and the truth is I expected a lot from these specific ones.
The sound is very muddy, the 80-140hz frequencies are overpowering compared to other frequencies. The sub is almost non-existent.
At first, I thought it was a matter of getting used to it, but after 6 hours of continuous use, the sound didn't change at all.
I also thought I had a problem with my own mix, but even different songs from artists sounded very strange.

I sincerely regret buying them, luckily I got them as backups. I was expecting better bass and more intensity than the AKG. The only positive thing is that they are comfortable on the ears and head, they don't bother you. However, the Numark Red Wave headphones that I have for the same price are superior in every aspect

Well, I give it 5 stars even though I wouldn't buy them again.

I wanted to have a pair of good headphones for editing at work.
What does this mean? I want realistic sound as close to the average of the headphones as possible, just with clean sound.
They achieve it 100%, I'm not surprised since AKG is a historic company in the field and they manage it even in the cheapest versions.
The construction is lightweight and sturdy (they are very advanced for their price).
Detachable cable.
I've had them for only 4 months, but there is no wear on the leather.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't buy them again because they don't isolate the sound well.

At my work, while I'm editing, I hear external sounds and if I turn the volume above 30% from the computer, my colleagues complain that they can hear almost everything.

If the negative thing I mentioned doesn't concern you as a consumer, must buy.
If you want to watch a movie while someone is sleeping nearby, don't do it.

I was looking for headphones that have a wire on top and not plastic, because my previous ones (some monster ones) broke in a week when my daughter tried to wear them. So:

+ removable cable (although with an adapter), useful if the cable gets pulled and breaks
+ 2 wires (they might be plastic, but they are quite elastic) to hold them in place
+ very good treble and midrange

- average bass

At this price (around 68 euros), there is no comparison with these features...

These specific speakers have very good sound for me, they have fantastic highs and moderate lows. They fit well on the head and are generally lightweight. However, I was not impressed with the build quality and the quality of the materials, the plastic is not of the best quality and overall the speaker base broke (the headphones became unusable). For this money, I expected better build quality from such a well-known company.

Comparing these specific headphones to the Sennheiser HD515 that I have, I have to say that the Sennheiser has better highs and a better balance between highs and lows, but the Sennheiser has better lows and much better build quality.

Very good price for very good headphones!

If you want very strong bass and no noise isolation from the environment, look for something else.
