The Phat CatTM is essentially a full-size single-coil P-90, adapted into a humbucker "package" so that it can be installed in any guitar with the corresponding humbucker pickup slots. The tone is full and thick (fat-phat!). It uses two Alnico 2 magnets for better sustain and a smoother attack. Additionally, the metal covers provide better shielding and noise reduction compared to standard plastic soapbar covers.
