Old age has made me invisible. This is particularly difficult for me, because I always attracted attention. Everyone knew who I was. There was no need to introduce myself; I would simply stand at the door and my name would make its way around the room in a chain of whispers, followed by several furtive glances.
I liked to linger in front of mirrors. I remember walking slowly past shop windows, checking the cut of my jacket or the wave of my hair. Now, if I happen to find myself suddenly in front of my reflection, I can hardly even recognize myself. What tragic irony that Mary, who would have gladly accepted the inevitability of old age, died at the relatively young age of sixty, while I am still here, forced to watch myself slowly wither away.

It makes you feel the Hollywood feeling and the beauty of authenticity. An ideal book for any time (without a particular presentation of important periods and seasons). The ending was very unexpected and moving, and the whole journey was top-notch.

A book that is very enjoyable to read. Optimistic and just "light" enough without being superficial or tiring. I read it very quickly and it left me with a nice sweet feeling at the end. It could also be a feelgood movie! 5/5 in its genre for me

Honestly excellent book, I was looking for something light for the summer that didn't have to do with romance and unfulfilled loves, it was truly the best book choice I could make. So enjoyable and nostalgic and easy to read. With some light touches of emotion just as needed. I read it very quickly because it absorbed me in a way that doesn't happen often. It is also ideal for newcomers to reading as it is an easy book without lacking depth and wit.
Ειλικρινά εξαιρετικό βιβλίο, έψαχνα κάτι ανάλαφρο για το καλοκαίρι που να μην έχει να κάνει με ρομάντζα και ανεκπλήρωτους έρωτες, ήταν πραγματικά η καλύτερη επιλογή βιβλίου που θα μπορούσα να κάνω. Τόσο ευχάριστο και νοσταλγικό και ευανάγνωστο. Με μερικές ελαφριές συγκινήσεις ακριβώς όσο χρειαζόταν. Το διάβασα παρά πολυ σύντομα γιατί με απορρόφησε κάτι που δε συμβαίνει συχνά. Επίσης είναι ιδανικό για καινουριους στο διάβασμα καθώς είναι εύκολο βιβλίο χωρίς όμως να του λείπει το επίπεδο και η τσαχπινιά.
A plot that grabs your interest, something different from the usual. If you want an optimistic book that keeps your interest but also provides lessons (without being tiresome), this is just what you need. Truly, as another review says, after finishing it, I was left with a smile.
Πλοκή που σου τραβάει το ενδιαφέρον, κάτι διαφορετικό από το συνηθισμένα. Αν θέλετε ένα αισιόδοξο βιβλίο που να κρατάει το ενδιαφέρον αλλά να δίνει και μαθήματα (χωρίς να είναι κουραστικό) είναι ο,τι πρέπει. Πραγματικά όπως λέει και μια άλλη κριτική, αφού το ολοκλήρωσα έμεινα με το χαμόγελο.

It is one of the most beautiful and optimistic books I have read. The author manages to make you a part of the story and a friend of the heroes. The heroes are simple and everyday people like all of us, and each one shares their own truth and the most profound revelations of their lives through the pages of the "authenticity notebook". Six distinct individuals will form bonds of friendship and love and promise to make you laugh and be deeply moved!
