In 2021, when Hellenism celebrates the 200th anniversary of the National Rebirth, the "Saitis" Publications participate with particularly well-crafted editions of books and calendars, aimed at showcasing and emphasizing all aspects of the Struggle and its protagonists. In this context, among others, we are releasing five works for children aged 10 and above – why not also for adults – in the Series: "In the Battle for Freedom," by the well-known author Evangelos P. Lekkas, a theologian, lawyer, and former director of the Apostolic Diakonia.

The titles include: 1. Witnesses of Faith – Heroes of the Homeland. 2. Orthodox Clergy in the Revolution. 3. Great Fighters of '21. 4. Teachers of the Nation and '21. 5. Philhellenes in the Struggle for Independence. These are significant Figures who fought for freedom, giving everything, many even their lives, "for the holy Faith of Christ and the freedom of the Homeland." It is an opportunity for children and young people to learn about the History of 1821 and to draw the necessary lessons.

In the work "Great Fighters of '21," ten individuals are chosen who willingly dedicated themselves to the effort of the enslaved Homeland. They fought with selflessness, bravery, and courage. They gave up their wealth and were separated from their families. They were unfairly tried and imprisoned without reason. However, they did not back down, because the purpose of their Struggle was supreme: the freedom of the Homeland!

In this work, written by the well-known author Evangelos P. Lekkas, the heroic Figures of the land parade: Alexandros and Dimitrios Ypsilantis, Theodoros Kolokotronis, Georgios Karaiskakis, Odysseas Androutsos, General Makrygiannis, and those of the sea: Andreas Miaoulis, Laskarina Bouboulina, Georgios Konturiotis, Konstantinos Kanaris, and Manto Mavrogenous. This is an opportunity for children and young people, as well as for the older generation, to learn about forgotten yet glorious aspects of our modern Greek History.
