Description

In 2021, when Hellenism commemorates the 200th anniversary of the National Rebirth, the "Saiti" Publications participate with particularly well-cared-for editions of books and calendars, aiming to showcase and highlight all aspects of the Struggle and its protagonists. In this context, among other things, we are releasing five works for children aged 10 and above – why not also for adults – in the Series: "In the Struggle for Freedom," by the well-known author Evangelos P. Lekkos, theologian, lawyer, and former director of Apostolic Diaconia, with titles: 1. Witnesses of Faith – Heroes of the Nation. 2. Orthodox Clerics in the Revolution. 3. Great Fighters of ’21. 4. Teachers of the Nation and ’21. 5. Philhellenes in the Struggle for Independence.

These are significant Figures who fought for freedom, giving everything, many even their lives, “for the holy Faith of Christ and the freedom of the Fatherland.” A chance for children and young people to learn the History of 1821 and draw the necessary lessons.

Teachers of the Nation and ’21

Great victories in History are not only won with the blood of fighters on the battlefields. They are also won with the spirit and ink of people, who, with their words and books, appropriately prepare the ground for the great moment of battle. This work presents ten scholars, writers, and teachers of the Nation who contributed to the spiritual awakening of enslaved Greeks, participated in the Struggle, and laid the foundations for the organization of Education in the early years after the creation of the modern Greek state.

Who wouldn't want to learn what ten great Teachers of the Nation contributed to the Struggle for freedom? In just 100 pages, the well-known author Evangelos P. Lekkos, theologian, lawyer, and former director of Apostolic Diaconia, presents the contributions of the Teachers: Eugenios Voulgaris, Adamantios Korais, Rigas Ferreos, Neophytos Vamvas, Ioannis Kapodistrias, Konstantinos Koumas, Konstantinos Oikonomou, Theoklitos Pharmakidis, and Georgios Yenadis. A brief, yet particularly informative read for children, young people, and adults.
