Whoever studies the history of Jewish Communities in Greece observes a gap in the literature. There are only a few announcements or scattered references to the history and the existence of the Jewish Community of Trikala.

Yet, what has been written so far, along with collective memory, shows that the Jewish presence in the city of Trikala is very old and that the Jews of the city were an integral part of life at all levels. This presence continues even to this day, albeit to a much lesser extent.

This gap in the literature has come to meet my personal quests and my studies on Greek Jewry, studies that began out of curiosity and have ended in a passion, which I hope will be sufficiently creative and productive.
