General Features
The surgical scissors are versatile surgical instruments. They are available in three basic configurations of tips (sharp/sharp, blunt/blunt, or sharp/blunt), various curves in straight or curved shapes, and lengths of 14.5 or 16 centimeters. They are used for general, multipurpose cutting and dissection. They cut through tougher tissue and are often used for incisions, while blunt functional scissors are primarily used for cutting materials such as sutures, tubing, or gauze.
Useful Information
- Clean and lubricate new tools before the first sterilization.
- After use, disinfect, clean, lubricate, and sterilize the tools as soon as possible.
- Should be disinfected using chemical-thermal methods, heat sterilization, or immersion in disinfectant and cleaning solution.
- Delicate instruments can also be sterilized in a UV radiation oven.
- Rinse very carefully after cleaning, preferably with deionized water.
- Dry thoroughly after washing.
- When lubrication is necessary, only use a lubricant based on mineral oil.
- Strictly follow the sterilization instructions provided by the manufacturer of the oven.
- If hot air sterilization is applied, the temperature must exceed 180 degrees Celsius.
- Do not use tools that have corroded.
