The Audison AP 6.5 Ω2 woofer was developed with a nominal impedance of 2Ω to take advantage of the power from the AP8.9 bit amplifier capable of 65W at a 2Ω load. The efficiency of the woofer is 95 dB, with a coil winding height of 10 mm and a diameter of 25 mm, offering a linear excursion 2.8 mm higher than that of the AP 6.5 (4Ω). This ensures high SPL values with minimal distortion even at high listening levels. To extend the frequency range to low frequencies up to 50 Hz, a tuning frequency of 75 Hz is chosen, achieving an excellent low-frequency output without a subwoofer.
