Annie and Duncan have matched with absolute naturalness, like the pieces of a puzzle. However, Duncan's passionate obsession with Tucker Crowe, a lonely and troubled American rock star, has never left them time for anything more constructive.
Tucker's record label suddenly releases an album of unplugged performances of his most famous songs from the legendary album Juliet; it is Tucker's first release in decades. The album's release brings unexpected developments: Annie can't see what is good about the unplugged performances, or why they are better than the originals, and Duncan finds comfort in the bed of another woman. Then, Annie finally feels free to throw him out.
But Duncan has yet to see the worst: Annie is not the only one with a negative opinion about the album. When she decides to post her opinion on Tucker's fan website, she receives an email from the most incredible sender: Tucker Crowe himself.
