It does what it says through the HDMI port, converting the signal to CVBS (Composite Video Baseband Signal), which transfers information in standard 480p or 576p resolution! What this means is that if someone like me wants to connect a TV box to a television with a broken HDMI port, it is a very good and reliable solution based on what I have seen. The downside is that due to the low resolution of 576p, it makes it difficult to watch (blurry). If 576p is displayed on a 1080p screen... I would say that it is slightly worse in terms of audio and video quality compared to scart to scart. A more ideal solution would be to use HDMI to Component. Therefore, I give this product 5 stars because it provides the solution you want and only for that.

I bought it to connect video to a TV that doesn't have a scart input. Unfortunately, I bought it for nothing because this one accepts HDMI input and outputs a signal to scart, while I need the opposite.
