It does exactly what it says. It enables old audio systems (in my case, 3 old JBL self-powered speakers paired together with JBL connect+, with a total power of 100 watts RMS) that are not compatible with Airplay2 and Apple Homekit to become compatible. Coincidentally, I found it cheaper (€79) at iStorm, but I believe it's worth €99 for someone in the Apple ecosystem.
