When Kukoutsis and Avgoula meet for the first time, they are almost the same size and shape. But as their friendship grows, so do Kukoutsis' roots... what happens to Avgoula? She sprouts wings and can't wait to use them and fly. Although Kukoutsis really wants to follow his friend on her adventures, his roots are strong, and he cannot do so. Thus, he watches her fly far away. Avgoula knows a world away from Kukoutsis. However, true friends always find a way, within the circle of life, to feel connected to one another and to reunite; "to play games, tell jokes, and make plans," just like Kukoutsis and Avgoula.
